ATHENS

Athens, the capital and largest city in Greece, is rich in history and culture and full of exciting things to see and do.  As one of the world's oldest cities, you can immerse yourself in history, antiquities, archaeology and museums.  Stroll the city to discover scores of tavernas, cafes, bars, and shops where you can occupy yourself well into the evening hours when the night comes to life in bars and clubs.

RESTAURANTS & DINING

Athens is a fantastic cultural city for food.  From traditional Greek and Mediterranean food to American, Asian and Mexican cuisine; Quick bites to sit down dining for hours; Cheap eats to fine dining; Center city to tables literally on the beach, Athens has it all.

GETTING AROUND ATHENS

When you need to get from place to place in Athens, there are many options available. More information on all of these methods can be found on the This is Athens Public Transportation page.

  • Metro - This is the fastest way to get around Athens
  • Suburban Railway - An overground train that makes stops between Athens International Airport and the ports at Piraeus
  • Bus/Trolleys - Extensive network that runs from 5am to midnight
  • Tram - Connects central Athens with some of the coastal towns
  • Taxi/Uber - Uber doesn't technically exist in Greece, however you can use the Uber app to call a taxi
